TOWN OF
ATHELSTANE
Temporary
weight restrictions have been placed on two (2) town roads
located in the TOWN OF ATHELSTANE, Marinette County,
Wisconsin.
Restrictions have been placed on MATHIS ROAD from County
Road C to Benson Lake Road and BECKER ROAD from Northway
Drive to Mathis Road.
Weight restrictions are as posted, are effective
immediately and will remain in effect until construction of
the County Road C bridge is completed.

Town of
Athelstane The Athelstane Volunteer Fire Department Fundraiser Picnic will be held Saturday, July 11th, 2026 at the Athelstane Fireman’s Park located at W10061 County Road C in Athelstane. There will be food, beverages, raffles, corn hole tournament, kids games and kids water fights. Music from 5-9pm by Norton and Chartier with fireworks to follow. Parade is at 11am with line-up at the Athelstane Town Hall starting at 10:30am and the picnic to follow at the picnic grounds. If you’d like to participate in the parade, please contact Pete Durian at (715)927-0147.

Temporary weight restrictions for the Town of Athelstane are in effect as of 12:01am on Wednesday, March 4th 2026. These seasonal "frost laws" are implemented to protect the local infrastructure during the spring thaw when roadbeds are most susceptible to damage from heavy loads. Per our local Ordinance #26, these bans will be in effect for 2 weeks after the bans are lifted by Marinette County.
